The Historic Lewes Farmers Market Celebrates Ten Years of Growing Local Produce and Community
On Saturday, May 2, the Historic Lewes Farmers Market celebrates its 10th Anniversary with 3 Great Chefs, 3 Historic Lewes Homes, 3 Delicious Menus on 1 Great Night!
Join us on Saturday, May 2 from 5:30 to 9pm for a progressive party at three historic Lewes homes on Second Street in downtown Historic Lewes. Chefs Bill Clifton from Henlopen City Oyster House, Aaron Berg from the Buttery, and Hari Cameron from a(MUSE.) will prepare light fare at each house, and you will be able to savor each of their menus accompanied by specially selected wines, beers, and champagne. We promise that this will be the best party, the best food, and the best company of the year. Tickets are very limited, so get yours quickly.
Funds from the event helps us operate our market so that our local farmers and vendors can grow, support their families, and build the local food movement in Delmarva.
The funds also help to support and expand our educational and charitable programs including:
- scholarships to farmers to attend sustainable conferences;
- workshops for farmers to help educate them on how to be successful at farmers markets
- demonstrations and other educational events every Saturday during the regular season;
- providing additional "Bonus Bucks" for customers using SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (commonly known as food stamps);
